Vattenfall's top executive, Lars G. Josefsson, will be heading Eurelectric for the next three years. Eurelectric is an industry association of European electricity companies that counts the Danish electricity companies among its members.
The selection of Lars G. Josefsson took place at Eurelectric's annual general meeting in Barcelona on 17 June.
"A well-functioning, integrated electricity market is a large part of the solution to the energy and climate challenges we are facing globally. Electricity is the form of energy of the future, and in 2050 the electricity industry must be CO2-free. The European electricity companies must give the climate their highest priority. In addition, energy consumption must be made more efficient at all levels of society," said Lars G. Josefsson in connection with his selection.
Lars G. Josefsson has headed Vattenfall since 2000 and has been the Vice-chairman of Eurelectric for the past three years.
